What is the showcase, and why are all my lights playing colours I did not pick?

The showcase is a demonstration of what TrackThirtyTwo lights can do, made for a shop, a show stand or a demo rig. While it runs, every LED device you have plays a tour on a loop of about two minutes: each idle animation in turn, each in a different colour theme, then the revs climbing to a shift flash, the flag colours and the pit limiter. All your devices play the same step at the same moment.

It only plays while no game is running. As soon as a game is running your own lights take over, and the tour carries on when you close it. It never changes your settings, so every device page still shows the theme you picked while the tour plays over it.

If your lights are playing colours you did not pick, so every device runs other colours and animations whenever no game is running while the pages still show your own theme, the showcase is switched on. To turn it off:

  1. Open the plugin and click LED DEVICES in the left rail.
  2. Find the SHOWCASE section. While the tour is playing it names the step it is on, such as Breathe, Bubblegum.
  3. Switch off Run the showcase whenever no game is running, and press Stop showcase if that button is showing.

Your devices go straight back to their own idle themes.

The two ways it runs:

  • Start showcase plays the tour until you press Stop showcase or restart SimHub. It is not remembered.
  • Run the showcase whenever no game is running is saved, so the tour comes back every time you open SimHub until you switch it off. On an Enterprise rig in kiosk service the same switch is on the Kiosk page, so the rig plays the tour between customers.

A button you have mapped to the showcase in SimHub's Controls and events can start it too.

The showcase arrived in plugin 7.3.3. From plugin 7.3.4 it colours steering wheels and button boxes as well; on 7.3.3 they played its animations in their own theme colours.
